Nurturing connections from the very beginning.

Therapy for individuals navigating pregnancy, postpartum, parenthood, and early adulthood in San Mateo, Redwood City, and SF Bay Area.

About Us

Nurture and Bloom was created as a trauma-informed and culturally affirming sanctuary, rooted in social justice and an understanding of how systems, culture, and lived experience shape our nervous systems and mental health—especially during life’s most tender and transformative seasons, including pregnancy, postpartum, parenthood, and early adulthood.

We believe that healing begins with being witnessed — not as someone who needs to be fixed, but as someone who can become their most authentic self with the right individual and collective support.

Here, you’ll find a space that honors the full spectrum of your experience — the mess, the beauty, and everything in between. Because real growth doesn’t happen when you have it all together; it happens when you finally feel safe enough to unfold.

You don’t have to enjoy every moment.

You’ve probably heard “enjoy every moment” more times than you can count.

And if you’ve landed here, you’ve probably wondered: Why doesn’t it feel like that for me?

You love your baby. And still, this new life can feel consuming. Like you’re drowning in responsibility, touched‑out, emotionally stretched thin, unsure how to feel like yourself again.

The guilt creeps in. You spiral when you start comparing yourself to other parents. And you wonder why this feels so hard when everyone else seems to be handling it just fine.

Here’s the truth most people don’t say out loud: You don’t have to enjoy every moment to be a good mom.

Motherhood cracks you open. And it’s even harder in a world where parents, especially mothers, are expected to give endlessly and to do so without complaints.

The weight you’re carrying makes sense.

Maybe you’re the primary parent. The one holding the mental load.

Endless tracking, managing, mental lists, all while trying to keep relationships afloat and not lose yourself in the process.

Maybe you’re asking youself:

  • Why does everything feel so hard?

  • Why don’t I feel the way I thought I would?

  • Why am I having these scary thoughts?

  • Why am I so irritable, anxious, or emotionally exhausted all the time?

And then there’s this part you really didn’t expect.

As you look at your baby, memories or feelings you had growing up start to creep in.

The one’s you thought you had moved past or forgot were there.

The experiences that were heavy, confusing, or lonely.

You feel a fierce protectiveness. A deep desire to do things differently for them.

And maybe, grief for what you didn’t receive and wish you had.

Motherhood unexpectedly holds up a mirror.

You might be feeling:

  • Self‑doubt, shame, people‑pleasing, the fear of getting it wrong surfacing

  • The weight of systemic pressures to get everything right

  • Anxiety that feels constant and hard to shake

  • Irritability that becomes your default mood

  • Exhaustion settling into your bones

  • Overwhelmed by constantly catching up with how fast your baby is changing and developing

  • You feel like you’re on autopilot, just trying to get through the day

Many parents I work with are carrying more than anyone can see — multiple roles and responsibilities, the emotional weight of becoming a parent, and childhood experiences that resurface in unexpected ways. They are deeply motivated to break generational cycles and learn to show up differently for their children and their relationships — even when they’re not sure how yet.

Meet the Founder

I’m Jessica Sirias Vasquez, LMFT — therapist, mom, and founder of Nurture and Bloom.

I’m really glad you’re here.

For the past decade, I’ve supported parents through the transition to parenthood they didn’t feel fully prepared for, where identity shifts, old coping patterns and wounds resurface, and life begins to move faster than you can process.

My own pregnancy and postpartum journey deepened this work in a very personal way. As a first-generation Latina and daughter of immigrants, becoming a parent cracked me open in unexpected ways — not only to the realities of hormonal shifts, endless giving, emotional overwhelm, but also to patterns and systemic pressures I didn’t know were there and a deep desire to break them.

I experienced firsthand how easily this season can quietly pull you away from yourself and how it can affect your mental health. It reinforced how essential it is to have a space where your voice, your needs, and your story are seen and allowed to take up space unapologetically.

Therapy here is a place to exhale.

This is a space for you to softly land, where your body can settle and you can say the hard things out loud. There’s no need to put up a front or hold it all together. In our work together, we slow down, make room for your full experience, and gently loosen what no longer serves you.

In a trauma-informed, relational, and culturally affirming space, my work is rooted in social justice and attuned to how systemic stressors show up in the body and nervous system. Together, we untangle what’s been weighing on you, and build on your strengths and supports so you can feel more grounded, embodied, connected, and feel like yourself again.

If you’re here, something in you is already reaching.

Whether you’re in a season of pregnancy, postpartum, parenthood, or another major life transition struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or simply the weight of expanding your family —you don’t have to do this alone.

Healing can begin now.

(Serving clients throughout San Mateo, Burlingame, Redwood City, the greater Bay Area, and California via telehealth.)
