The Story Behind
Nurture and Bloom
How It All Began
Jessica Sirias Vasquez, LMFT (#148078)
The journey to motherhood was something I longed for deeply. After two years of infertility and two heartbreaking pregnancy losses, finally becoming pregnant felt like a dream come true — and yet, nothing could have prepared me for how overwhelming it would feel once I got there.
Even though I had worked with parents and young children for over a decade as a clinician in San Mateo and greater SF Bay Area, I was blindsided by the emotional wave of pregnancy, postpartum anxiety, rage, exhaustion, and self-doubt that came with motherhood. I loved my baby — and I also felt like I was disappearing under the weight of caring for everyone else.
Motherhood was everything I wanted, but it also cracked me open. It showed me how lonely and isolating this season can be, even when you have support.
Through my own healing, I realized that mothers need more than advice — they need a safe, compassionate space to be seen, to process, and to remember who they are. My personal experience affirmed the work I’d been doing all along, but it also called me to create something deeper:
A sanctuary where parents can reconnect with themselves, find balance, and feel held in the most tender and transformative era of their lives.
That’s how Nurture and Bloom was born — a place for healing, rediscovery, and emotional growth for expecting and postpartum mothers throughout San Mateo and the Bay Area.
